  "Nuclear power Plant" is a thermal power station in which the heat source is a nuclear 

reactor. As is typical in all conventional thermal power stations the heat is used to 

generate steam which drives a steam turbine connected to a generator which produces 

electricity.

[Sambo EnC] Our Major project - Tunnel







<Our major project - Tunnel>


Tunnel Supports ground around the tunnel with ground-self bearing power and 

combination of wall bearing and gastropore. The stability of tunnel is affected by 

engineering character near environment and location. 

At its most basic, a tunnel is a tube hollowed through soil or stone. Constructing a 

tunnel, however, is one of the most complex challenges in the field of civil engineering. 






Sambo EnC mainly constructed transportation tunnel for road, railroad and subway and 

is leading tunnel method with common gunpowder blasting and machinery digging. We 

recently expanded business area to SHIELD TBM method.

Bored piling is popular to be used in construction as a foundation to carry on the heavy 

vertical load from buildings, industrial complexes, bridges, and infrastructures etc by 

transferring the structure loading into the subsoil.

It offers the most economical foundation as they can be constructed in a wide choice of 

diameters, typically ranging from 500 mm to 2500 mm, and to depths of up to 95m.

Bored piles can provide a solid foundation elements suitable for almost all site 

conditions.

  
   Bored Pile is a cast-in-place concrete pile where the bored piles have to be cast on 

construction site, while other concrete piles like Spun Pile and reinforced concrete 

Square pile are precast concrete pile which they're cast in the factory.

a) Formation of Bored Hole by Earth drilling Rigs

Bored piling is a process whereby steel circular casings are installed into the ground by 

the simultaneous process of drilling and soil. This is then followed by the concreting of 

the piles. which then forms a strong pile foundation for the structure. This process is 

usually required when when soil replacement instead of soil displacement is required. 

Sambo E&C owns various types of boring rigs and is able to construct bored pile to 

maximum 3.0 m diameter and depth to maximum 95 m from ground level. 




b) Formation of Bored hole by Reverse circulation Drilling method

The RCD system, also referred to as air-lift drilling, is well known as a robust and 

uncomplicated sys-tem that is highly efficient for large diameters and depth onshore and 

offshore. The reverse circulation drilling method executed by RCD machine is used in 

pre-driling work. 







> Main advantage 

1. piles of various lengths can be extended through soft soils into suitable 

bearing material.

2. Large excavations and subsequent backfill are eliminated

3. Very little influence to the adjacent foundation, buildings and structures.

4. Adjacent soil is not disturbed or remolded. 

5. Absence of vibration will not disturb adjacent piles or structures. For many 

design situations bored piles offer higher capacities with potentially better

economics than drive piles.

Diaphragm Wall is generally reinforced concrete wall constructed in the ground using 

Under slurry technique which was developed in Europe.

Sambo EnC started our first diaphragm wall work for underground storage for LPG/LNG 

project in 1987 in Incheon Korea, since then, Sambo EnC has expanded our works from 

Korea to Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai etc. 


Sambo EnC has completed more than 70 diaphragm wall projects for commercial and 

residential buildings, various types of infrastructures, water conservancy projects, and 

other industry projects.  

The experience gained from projects and constantly developing of the technologies 

enables us to meet every need of construction, water conservancy projects, and other 

industry projects.   


> construction method introduction

the diaphragm wall is constructed panel by panel, the trench is excavated by Trench 

cutter or Bucket and the excavated trench is supported by bentonite slurry initially 

followed by inserting of steel cages and finally the slurry is totally replaced by tremied 

concrete. The methodology of diaphragm wall construction is also applicable for Barrette 

Pile construction which provides higher structure and geotechnical capacities compare 

to the Bored Pile.

- Limited noise and vibration

- Very little influence to the adjacent foundation, buildings and structure

- Reduce Joints in the wall which ultimately improves the wall water tightness compare to 

secant and contiguous bored pile wall.

For those of you who do not have any idea about what PDA test pile is, I will briefly
 
discuss it here. 
 
The PILE DRIVING ANALYZER (PDA) system is the most widely employed system for 
 
Dynamic Load Testing and Pile Driving Monitoring in the world. High Strain Dynamic Load 
 
Tests, also called PDA tests, assess the capacity of several piles in a single day. Pile 
 
Driving Analyzer systems also evaluate shaft integrity, driving stresses and hammer 
 
energy when monitoring installation.
 
















 
 
 
High Strain dynamic testing is a method of testing deep foundations to obtain

information about their capacity and integrity, and in some cases, to monitor their

installation.

High strain dynamic testing consists of estimating soil resistance and its distribution from

force and velocity measurements obtained near the top of a foundation impacted by a

hammer or drop weight. The impact produces a compressive wave that travels down the

shaft of the foundation.
